It has been a while, but I output a new chapter for my upcoming novel, as seen here. Please feel free to post comments about it, so I can improve upon the narrative.
It has been a long time coming. As you might be aware, I have put additional Tales of Ubernorden stories on hold to write down a SciFi novel that has been in my head for quite some time. It has been slow going thanks to by easily distracted nature and lack of real time to just sit down and write. But here is the first chapter of my prospective novel for your review and comments. Please do so, I as really do wish to publish this in book for sometime and your comments will make this a much better work of art. Also fair warning, this is only a prospective chapter one as I think this should be a second chapter, or maybe I'm thinking of a prologue. Haven't figured it out yet.
As always, Enjoy.
Finally! Finally, I have completed the latest story and published in on the internet. You can find it here.
This now makes nine stories in all. I did it! Hip, hip, hooray!
What did I do? I managed to make and publish an entire anthology. Or roughly thereof. What does this mean for the future? Maybe nothing, maybe everything. I will go all the way. Will you follow this stupid person?
What I know for certain is that I have another story in me that I will start writing as soon as I have the time. Not today, and probably not tomorrow. But next week, I will make every effort to get out a new story for your amusement.
As always, Enjoy!
Well after a little bit of soul searching, I have come to a critical decision. As some of you may know, I have mentioned that there is a specific story in the Tales of Ubernorden from which all the Tales of Ubernorden revolve around. I have also mentioned that I wish to tell that story in the future. I am here to tell you that I no longer wish to tell that story. I will continue writing Tales of Ubernorden, but that story is no longer possible.
For starters, in the way I envisioned the story progressing it was becoming quite stale. Furthermore, since I have changed the geography and the political situation of Ubernorden many of the plot points of that story no longer make as much sense as they used to. And lastly, I have envisioned a kind-of sequel that takes place in the future of that story that possesses many of the same plot points, but is far more dynamic and features a neat little 'pull' that is classic Ubernorden. This means that it will be more enjoyable for me to write and ultimately for you to read.
As of yet, I have not yet figured out if this discarded story will be used as back story as is or in a similar yet different form for the new story. But we are a long way off from that story being written.
It has been an unconscionable length of time for me to speak to you. And I have a confession to make.
For the past few months, during the Holiday Season, I have been progressing slowing on the lates Tale of Ubernorden. Unfortunatley, I got halfway through the first draft of the story when I realized that I had know idea how to finish it in any conceivably decent fashion. Now, I realize that I am hardly writing on par with Shakespeare, but I like to think I make decent enough endings that make some sense. I just can't really do that with this story.
So I have decided to put that story on hiatus and start a new one. I really don't like this option. I like this story and see it as the kind of story that changes the artform as we know it. But with out a proper way to end it, I just can't publish it at this time.
What this means for you, however, is that I won't be able to submit a new story for your enjoyment by the end of February, since I am starting a new story from scratch. Still, there is much to enjoy already here on this site. So...
As always, Enjoy.
Rejoice! Rejoice, for I have finished a brand new story for your amusment. Read it and be content.
Over the coming days, I will hopefully update the Glossary and Places of the Databook. Also, because of the holiday season that is upon us, I will not be able to get a new story out to you this year. But I promise to work hard and get it to you early next year.
As always, Enjoy.
A new story is up and can be seen here. I hope you enjoy it. As always, comments are appreciated.
Today, I made a couple of minute changes to the story "The Treasure of Golodo." While small, they were important (try to guess what the changes were). The reason for the changes was because of the Geographical changes I made to Ubernorden. As you might recall, I altered the entire geography of Ubernorden in the middle of writing "The Treasure of Golodo." So I was stuck between the old geography and the new. In the old geography, I had a certain country that was on the banks of the Adune River. In the new geography, that country is not on the Adune sea. So since the characters of the story went to the country, but were on the Adune, it didn't work. So the need for the change.
I also changed the eBook so that it matches the website. I apologize to anyone who may have downloaded the older copy already. As always, enjoy the Tales of Ubernorden.
Edit: Well, I did it again. In my haste to make sure that the geography of Ubernorden was adhered to, I forgot how far Makakos and Cetland were. The the refugees at the end would never be able to travel so far in such ragged conditions, so a closer refuge would be needed. Ceventes will still be in the Places Databook, but a new port of call is being used.
This will be the last change, I promise.
This is the world in which they lived:
