I just saw the last episode of the Season 3 premier of Archer. If you aren't watching this show, you really should. It is just so hilarious.
So I was working out in the gym earlier today, and they have a row of televisions for gymnasts to watch while working out. On one of the TVs was an episode of Dr. Phil. And on Dr. Phil was a segment about the obesity epidemic in America today. On the TV next to it was a daytime soap opera whose title I forget. But appearing on that soap was a paper thin actress. This reminded me about something that I just don't understand about the obesity epidemic, how can it be happening when all these thin people are on TV.
Some of you might remember that in middle and high school that we were given assemblies where people would explain to us the dangers of anorexia and bulemia. These people would explain to us that razor thin actors and actresses were giving impressionable young people a false sense of beauty, that a person had to be super thin in order to be beautiful. Well if that is the case, why do we have an obesity problem. Shouldn't there be a whole bunch of skinny people imitating all of these thin actors/actresses. No. Instead there is a bunch of fat people out there who mostly say, "oh well," when they see a thin actor.
Doesn't this all sound ludicrous to you. This is just another example of people giving too much power to the media. Stupid, stupid people.
Have a new story up in the works, and its going to be a long one. Already I am on the 15th page of the rough draft. But in the previous stories, at 15 pages I was halfway done with the story. With this story, however, I am only 1/4 or 1/3 of the way through. This is going to be a doozy, so be patient with me.
On another note, I am aware that I have yet to post the e-book version of Blood Feud. It simply slipped my mind that I haven't done it yet. It will be up soon though, mark my words.
It's been a wet week up here in New England. Wet, wet, wet. But not too much flooding where I am. Can't believe how lucky I am on that occasion.
Also a story update. I am now prehaps a third of the way through a new story. Like Blood Feud, it will be a story that does not feature Thorathor. Yet I feel that it will be quite good none-the-less.
This is the world in which they lived:
